Rule 62 - "Don't Take Yourself Too Damn Seriously" - Special Inspiration Medallion
A special inspirational medallion marking a milestone in the development of the traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions describes this milestone in great detail. To summarize, early in the development of the "the rules" for the A.A. group, and only after creating 61 rules to govern the group, a member saw the futility in such an effort and penned a message on a golf scoring card. The cover of the card read: "Middleton Group #1, Rule 62." Inside the card was the message: "Don't take yourself too damn seriously." The message serves as a reminder that the group, just like the individual, has the right to be wrong.
This important message serves as the subject of this lightly bronzed medallion. The obverse (front) of the coin has the inscription: "Rule 62," and the back of the coin carries a "simple" message: "Don't take yourself too damn seriously."
Materials: a bronze medallion featuring a durable lacquer topcoat (prevents scratches - maintains the medallion's original luster)
